Abstract：According to the newest global Cambrian chronostratigraphic framework which subdivides the Cambrian System into 4 series and 10 stages, the authors discussed the classification and correlation of the Cambrian strata in western Xuefeng Mountain area, based on the analysis of the trilobite biostratigraphy data and the progress in the study of the conodont biostratigraphy. As a result,a more reliable scheme for the Cambrian classification and correlation is suggested for this area.
